【摘要】:BackflowPreventerswithIntermediateatmosphericVentareinstalledintheplumbingtopreventbackflowinpotablewatersupplylinesduetothecreationofbackpressureorback-siphonageinwhichreversalofthenormaldirectionofflowcouldcauseorallowpollutantstoenterthepotablewatersupplysystem.Thedevicescoveredbythisstandardarethosewhichhavefunctionalcapabilitiesforpreventingbothbacksiphonageandbackpressurebackflowinthewatersupplylines,andwhichcanoperateundercontinuousorintermittentpressureconditions.Thesedeviceshavetowindependentlyoperatingcheckvalvesseparatedbyanintermediatechamberwithameansforautomaticallyventingittotheatmosphere.Thecheckvalvesreforceloadedtoanormallyclosedpositionandtheventingmeansisforceloadedtoanormallyopenposition.
